Account and Data Deletion

Your Right to Erasure

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), you have the right to request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten"). We will process your request in accordance with applicable law and within the timeframes set out below.

Data That Will Be Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following personal data will be permanently removed from our active systems:

• Account information (email address, name, profile photo)
• All travel records (countries visited, cities, dates)
• Daily notes and journal entries
• Photos uploaded to the Service
• Statistics, achievements, and badges
• Location history and trip tracking data
• App preferences and settings

Data Retention Exceptions

In certain circumstances, we may be required to retain certain data for longer periods:

• Legal obligation: Where we are required to retain data by law (e.g., tax records, legal claims).
• Backup systems: Data in backup systems may be retained for a limited period (typically up to 30 days) before permanent deletion.
• Anonymized data: We may retain aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you for analytics and service improvement.

How to Request Deletion

Processing Timeline

We will process your deletion request within 30 days of receiving a verified request, in accordance with GDPR and KVKK. In most cases, deletion is completed within 48 hours. You will be notified by email when the process is complete. If we need to extend the timeline (e.g., due to complexity), we will inform you within 30 days and explain the reason.

After Deletion

Once your account is deleted, you will no longer have access to the Service with that account. You may create a new account at any time, but your previous data will not be restored. If you have shared content with others, that content may remain accessible to them until they delete it from their view.
